Impact: Increased Access to Early-Learning Programs
for Children With Disabilities

Education experts at Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Delaware developed techniques to make learning environments inclusive for young children with disabilities. They wanted service providers and early childhood leaders to integrate these research-based and best practice techniques into instruction to improve children’s learning opportunities. WEA connected their ideas to the audience in two popular, commercially-sold booklets that feature a digital delivery format (USB drive, CD, and online) containing planning and classroom tools. The award-winning products are:
  • CARA’s Kit: Creating Adaptations for Routines and Activities.
[Two versions—one for preschool-age children and one for toddlers.]
  • PEAT’s Suite: Supporting a Child’s Physical Environment and Assistive Tools Journey.
